Contributions of Andrée Tixier-Vidal (1923-2021) to modern cell biology

Abstract : This article illustrates the main stages of the scientific career of Dr Andrée Tixier-Vidal, a pioneer in cell biology research in France. She made important discoveries in the field of hormone secretion and neuronal morphogenesis. She played a key role in developing pituitary and neuronal cultures and using electron microscopy to study cellular structures. Her scientific influence continues to irradiate through her students and collaborators.
